Top 10 cars exported from India in FY14.

New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India exported fewer i10s in FY14 but the compact hatchback still retained its ranking as the most-exported made-in-India car at 109,074 units. Volkswagen sedan Vento broke into the top 10, rising to sixth place from 16 as exports of the model shot up almost threefold to 32,017

Hyundai's i10 declined in both exports and local sales in FY14. Overseas sales dropped 29% while domestic sales fell 31%.

The Nissan Micra remained at No. 2 with 78,383 units exported, up 13% from 69,063 units in FY13. Nissan Motors India also dislodged Maruti Suzuki India as the second largest car exporter thanks to the Micra and the Sunny.

Nissan India's exports rose 18% to 1.16 lakh units, while Maruti Suzuki lost 16% to 1.01 lakh cars.
Locally, the Micra only sold 12,596 units in FY 14. On the other hand, the Maruti Swift and Dzire, the top-selling cars in India, could not make it to the top 10 list of exported vehicles.

Four Hyundai models made this list--i10, i20, Accent and Eon. The recently launched Grand i10 has been doing well in the export and domestic markets, having sold 15,425 units in just a little more than three-four months. It's been eating into the i10 and i20 markets locally.

Hyundai currently export six models--Santro, i10, i20, Accent, Eon and Verna--to 119 countries. Maruti's A-Star, although not a big performer locally, is fourth-ranked in exports.

Overall, car exports grew marginally, by 1%, in FY14 to 550,466 units from 547,222 in FY13
